First Leg of the Tour

We are home resting for a few days after finishing the first leg of the Christmas tour. I guess I should qualify that statement by adding that I am resting with three children, so maybe I should just say I am resting from singing for a few days. The first few shows have been so much fun- Chicago, Lincoln and Topeka. We have experienced the midwestern winter cold and it makes Nashville cold feel like a spring picnic. This year we have Brandon Heath as one of the artists performing in the round and he has been a great addition to the tour. Someone on Andrew Peterson's website called him the new "Defense of the Dark Arts Teacher" referencing the Harry Potter teacher who changes every year:) His songs are amazing and I have loved hearing his version of "Deliver Us". We also have Matt Slocum from Sixpence None the Richer playing cello and not only is he a great instrumentalist, he won the tour's foosball championship. My husband Andy is trying to reprise his role tour PE teacher from last year so I will keep you posted and share any embarrassing photographs. I will say that being the only girl on tour did not prevent me from scoring two goals in our soccer game and I was pretty proud of myself. I even have the bruises and cuts on my shins to prove it thanks to Andy Osenga's failed defense.
After so many years of doing this tour you would think it would get old, but the excitement I felt at the first show rivaled my excitement on our very first tour. It is a chance to be with old friends and new friends and tell a story through music that is bigger than every one of us. Thank you to everyone who has come out to the shows and to those who are planning to in the weeks ahead. I will post more as the tour goes along so feel free to check back or subscribe to the RSS Feed for this blog.
Until then, a happy advent season to you and those you love.
Jill
Our community group is incredibly excited that the Behold the Lamb tour is coming to Louisville. I think we have a group of about 20 friends from church coming to the concert! You all are in our prayers as you prepare to share and sing. This was one of the biggest highlights of the advent season last year for me and I'm so glad I'll get to see you guys again. God bless and safe travels!!
I'm not surprised that you scored a couple of goals. I think I still have your GBHS soccer team pic from our high school days! Looking forward to the show in Charlotte this Wednesday. See ya then!
We just saw you and Andy in Kokomo at the BTLOG tour...it was awesome! We were there last year too, and have been looking forward to the concert for months! We appreciate how Christ focused you both are, and how you are using your talents to please Him and lead others to worship. Merry Christmas to you guys and your kids, and we'll see at another concert soon!
